Play Groups

Sometimes, the best way parents can learn is through other parents.

The HUB offers baby and toddler play groups which give moms and dads a chance to meet other parents, exchange advice, give great tools on how to positively interact with your baby or toddler, and meet other children who you and your children may be friends with for years to come.

The HUB's play groups are a great way to be introduced to the wonderful programs and services the HUB has to offer. Play groups meet weekly and are facilitated by an experienced HUB parent educator.

Junior Trailblazers Summer Nature Program

Junior Trailblazers is offered only in the summer. This yearJunior Trailblazers will meet on Wednesdays starting on July 7th from 9:30am-11:30am.

Register for all 5 programs ($5 per family/per week) or just for the weeks you want to attend!

This program is for children age 2 years and older and their parents. Explore nature with the HUB's nature enthusiast and crafter extraordinaire Laurie Parker. Throughout the 5 weeks, the group will meet at pre-determined locations for a nature walk and child-friendly exploration, or at the McConnell Community Center in Dover for crafts that bring nature home to your child!

July 7th - A Day in Maine, Vaughan Woods, South Berwick, Maine
July 14th - Make terrariums at the McConnell Community Center in Dover. All supplies will be provided by the HUB to make a living piece of art!
July 21st - Meet with a UNH Marine Docent. Walk the trails at Wagon Hill Farm in Durham, NH and learn about its diverse habitats.
July 28th - Book marks with pressed flowers, painted rocks or decoupage pots for planting. A nature & craft lovers heaven! McConnell Community Center, Dover.
August 4th - Picnic in the Park. Raffles, games, prizes and LUNCH provided by the HUB as our final Trailblazers celebration. Henry Law Park, Dover.

Program Notes:

All hikes will leave the trailhead promptly at 9:30am.
In case of inclement weather, the group will meet at the McConnell Community Center in Dover for rainy day crafts and nature activities.
The HUB will provide water and snacks each week.

Bouncing Babies and Creepers Play group

This interactive group is for parents and their babies from birth to crawling. Meet other parents, share milestones, and learn about your baby's development. Siblings are welcome.

Crafty Kids (Dover) & Crafty Kids II (Rochester)

Enjoy parent and child art projects where we focus on the process not the product. Crafty Kids is a great way to join with others for this interactive playgroup for children of all ages.

Connections Play group and Morning Group

Is your child transitioning into school? Are you wondering how you can set more clear limits at home? Do you want help understanding your own parenting style? Join with other parents to share the joys and challenges of parenting. Parents meet in our McConnell Community Center space while the children's program staff offers fun and creative activities for the kids in the child care space in the next room.
