Guiding Principles

The HUB will be proactive in addressing the evolving needs of families and adhere to the highest standards of family support practice assuring that:

  1. Parents will be recognized as their child’s first and primary teacher.
  2. There will be no barriers to family participation.
  3. Our facilities will be inviting and well designed for meeting, learning, and play.
  4. Our staff will be caring, professional, and continuously well trained in the “best practices” of working with families.
  5. Board members, staff, and families will share an equal respect for and commitment to families.

Our vision is that the HUB will serve as a center for community building and will continue to be a welcoming place for children to learn, for adults to collaborate and build skills, and for all to share the joys of parenting.

Today, the HUB continues to offer a variety of parent and family programs and home based services in Dover, Somersworth, and Rochester as well as northern Strafford County. Families from these towns as well as neighboring seacoast and Maine towns frequent our ongoing parent/child developmental play groups, parent education workshops, young parent support groups as well as dad's groups.
