Play Groups

Some of the best information a parent can receive about parenting is through someone who is going through or has gone through the same thing.

The HUB offers baby and toddler playgroups which give moms and dads a chance to meet other parents, exchange advice, give great tools on how to positively interact with your baby or toddler, and meet other children who you and your children may be friends with for years to come.

The HUB’s playgroups are a great way to be introduced to the wonderful programs and services the HUB has to offer. Playgroups meet weekly and are facilitated by an experienced HUB educator.  Some groups are fee based, others are free of charge.

Bouncing Babies & Creepers Playgroup
This interactive group is for parents and their babies from birth to crawling. Meet other parents, share milestones, and learn about your baby’s development. Siblings are welcome and childcare is provided for them.

Crafty Kids
Enjoy parent/child art projects where we focus on the process not the product. Crafty kids is a great way to join with others for this interactive playgroup for children.

Junior Trail Blazers

A summer nature program for children ages 2-7 years old and their parents exploring local nature trails; learning how to identify native plants and trees and discover some of natures hidden treasures. An interactive and educational story will be read each session.  A light snack and water will be provided. In the event of rain, Junior Trail Blazers will meet at the McConnell Community Center in Dover for rainy day crafts and stories.

Crafts and Coffee Playgroup and Parent Support Group

Together with Community Partners, this playgroup and support group is offered to all families. Children will enjoy age-appropriate crafts, while parents come together for an informative discussion focused on parenting.

Kid Talk and Parent Time Playgroup/Support Group

Is your child transitioning into school? Are you wondering how you can set more clear limits at home? Do you want help understanding your own parenting style? Join with other parents to share the joys and challenges of parenting. Parents meet in our newly renovated McConnell Community Center space while the children’s program staff offers fun and creative activities for the kids in the new child care space in the next room over.
